Brad Badeaux, 24, was transferred Monday to Elayn Hunt Correctional Center in St. Gabriel, Sheriff Sid Hebert said Thursday. Badeaux spent about two weeks in the Iberia Parish Jail after being transferred from Lafayette.
Badeaux was sentenced to a year in prison Jan. 15 in connection with a 2006 crash on Ambassador Caffery Parkway that claimed the life of a Lafayette woman and her 16-year-old daughter.

Hebert said Badeaux’s father contacted him last year and requested that he be allowed to serve his time in Iberia Parish. He said the request was intended to make it easier for family members to visit Badeaux in jail.
Hebert said the transfer was not influenced by the employment of Badeaux’s mother, Tina Ardoin, who works as a dispatcher for the sheriff’s office. He said such transfers are commonplace in Iberia Parish and neighboring parishes.
Hebert said Badeaux was transferred to Elayn Hunt Correctional Center at the request of the state Department of Corrections.
Hunt is a maximum security prison that also serves as an intake center for state prisoners.

I completely agree with Theresa - I thoroughly believe that these "Big Trucks" should be outlawed. Not saying the truck caused the accident - but these trucks are obscenely large and block the view for us "normal car-owning folk" - even cross the center line for being larger than necessary. I will never understand a parent's train-of-thought when purchasing this for their under-experienced child. They are killing-machines. I will never understand the purpose of such a large, obtrusive vehicle...

Not only is Brad responsible but so is him mom and stepdad. If Brad had been made to pay the first time he was ticketed for a DUI, Judy Grof, Jessie Lyons and Megan Theriot would be fine today. But; since the have money and political connections this is what happens, a jail in your pocket, and a judge in the courtroom.
Thank you so much for your support. "

Brad received 10 years, 9 years suspended and serve 12 months. Well; Judy, jessie, and Meg received a life sentence.
THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT "

Nothing can take place at the Iberia Parish Jail without the OK from Sid Hebert! He is the sheriff. It was not Lafayette it was New Iberia that requested the transfer to Iberia Parish because of his mom and stepdad. Why shouldn't they have to drive two hours to see Brad? I had to drive three hours to see Meg at Touro in New Orleans because I could not afford a hotel room and only her mother was allowed to stay....... "

Dear Friend, Brad was not in a hurry to get somewhere he was drag racing and showing off with his big Z71 saying look at my big red truck and look how fast I can go. Problem he was doing that on a public road with a passenger, Megan, with no regard for anyone else. Where did he take responsibility? He ran from the scene and hid hollering for his daddy. Then served nine months in Iberia Parish jail where mommy could take care of him. Now he serves just three months. "
