A native of Houma and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Martin died at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, in a New Iberia hospital.
Mr. Martin was a retired salesman. He enjoyed cooking and fishing. Never meeting a stranger, PJ loved talking and visiting with family and friends. He served in the United States Navy from 1947 until 1950.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae Bienvenue Martin; parents, Preston J. Martin Sr. and Ovelia Fouquier Martin; brother Earl “Palooka” Martin; and a sister Beulah M. Lamaison.
Pallbearers were Matthew McFarland, Layne McFarland, Nikolas Bodin, Leon Thrash, Jimmy Lynn Dupuy and Dr. Chris Dupuy.
Honorary pallbearers were Payton Landry, Joe Martin, Baile Bourque, Trae Martin and the residents of St. Gabriel Manor.
David Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter Street (337) 369-6336, was in charge of the arrangements.
