Visiting hours will be held Friday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Miller’s Funeral Home in Monroe.
A native and resident of Monroe, Rev. Freeman died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008 at St. Francis Medical Center after a brief illness.

He recieved his formal education in the Monroe and Ouachita Parish School Systems. After two years in the Armed Services, he obtained a B.S. degree in Speech and English from Grambling State University and M Ed. from Southern University.
An avid educator of children and adults, for the greater part of his life, he taught in the Monroe City School System and for ten years in the Iberia Parish School System.
He will be remembered for his many stage productions by Henderson High and NISH students and as a DJ/Commentator for KANE during the late sixties and early seventies.
He continued to strengthen and broaden the minds of children even after his health began to fail. He was also a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and the Masonic Order of Masons.
He is survived by his devoted a loving wife of 41 years. Dianne Landry Freeman; one son, Acie (Sonia) Freeman Jr.; five daughters, Doris Galloway Lewis, Nyoka Freeman, Daphne Freeman all of Monroe, Genara (Danny) Freeman-Morris and Allegra Freeman of Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one broher, Willie (Annie Lee) Freeman of Monroe; one ward, Jamonte Bailey; four god-children, Sean Chretian, Vivian Crockhom, Malcolm Gay and Aline Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church families and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Freeman Sr. and the late Letha Doris Braggs Freeman; two sisters and two brothers.
