The evening kicked off with a rendition of the popular show “Deal or No Deal,” culminating with a $7,000 donation into the Iberia Parish Enhancement Fund in honor of Nancy and Brudley Kibodeaux, this year’s recipients of the Chamber’s Outstanding Civic Service award.
The Chamber recognized leaders, past and present as well as several businesses important to the local economy and active in the Chamber for a combined total of 500 years in business.

Arlene Bonner Armentor, executive director of the Boy’s and Girl’s Club introduced a video presentation depicting the lives and generosity of the Kibodeauxs. She said they “embodied the purest form of giving — giving of oneself and expecting nothing in return.”
With an incredible degree of composure Colleen Moreaux, Jane Kibodeaux, Lisa Duhon, Hazel and Harry Delahoussaye, Dean Delahoussaye, Gary Delahoussaye and Laurie Delahoussaye accepted the award on the couple’s behalf.
“It is a wonderful feeling to be here accepting this award, said Colleen Moreaux, Brudley’s sister. “We are so proud of both of them. They devoted countless hours to the community and to the children in the community.”
She said that she cried throughout the entire video presentation, missing her brother and his wife tremendously and once the group was on-stage to accept the award, her tears stopped as she became overwhelmed with love and appreciation for the couple and the positive effects they had on the community.
