Arthur Dural

LYDIA— Services for Arthur “Sweet-thing” Dural, 75, will begin Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Nicholas Cathoic Church in Lydia with the Rev. Donovan Labbe officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday from 7 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. with a rosary recited at 9 a.m. at Fletcher Funeral Home.

A native of Lafayette and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Dural died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008 at University Medical Center in Lafayette.

He was a member of the St. Nicholas Catholic Church. He was employed at Patout Sugar Mill for many years.

He is survived by his wife,Louverisa Boudreaux Dural of New Iberia; sons, James (Angelene F.) Dural of New Iberia and Michael Dural of Lafayette; daughter, Lou Bertha D. (John Sr.) Jackson of New Iberia; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clay Dural and Elva Gordon Dural; daughter, Lorie Anne Dural; brothers, Gerald, Chestley, Lumas, Calvin and Audrey Dural and sisters, Mazel Dural Taylor, Ollie Mae Dural Semere, Ourline Dural Broussard.

Active pallbearers will be John Jackson Sr., Tommy Dural, Kenneth Broussard, John Jackson Jr., Charles Boudreaux Sr. and Nelson Durald.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lloyd Sigue III, Donald Merchant, Dwayne Henry, Clay Dural, Jay Boudreaux and Lionel Broussard.

Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of the arrangements.
