Shara G. Viator

Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. George E. Viator, the former Shara Guidry, 59, at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. Keith DeRouen and Rev. Mark Derise officiating.  Entombment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held today from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Thursday from 8 a.m. until time of service.

A native of Baton Rouge and resident of New Iberia, Mrs.Viator died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 at 5:34 p.m. at her residence.

Mrs. Viator was a member of Farm Bureau for 30 years, worked for the Distric Attorney’s Office in Iberia Parish for 20 years and was the owner of Fancy Feet, a children’s shoe store.  She worked for Beadle Point Shoppe and Rachelle Floral Shoppe.  She was active with the Mother’s Club at Catholic High.  

Shara was a Notary Public, she was passionate about cake decorating, jewelry designing, flower arranging and interior decorating. She was very talented, hard working, generous and selfless. She gave of herself and her time to others and enjoyed sharing all her talents.

Above all, she found immense joy in spending time with her children and grand children.

She is survived by her husband, George E. Viator of New Iberia; son, George E. Viator, II of New Iberia; daughters, Sasha V. LeCompte and husband Brian of Metairie and Erica V. Lukasko and husband Bill of Lafayette; mother, Audrey Carlin Guidry of Baton Rouge; brothers, Roland William Guidry II of Slidell and Russ Michael Guidry of Baton Rouge; sisters, Tamara G. Wall and Tara L. Guidry both of Baton Rouge and grandchildren, Nathan M., Alexandra K., Samantha R. LeCompte and Alaina J. Lukasko.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roland William Guidry.

Pallbearers will be George E. Viator II, Roland W. Guidry II, Russ M. Guidry, Kenny E. Wall, Brian M. LeCompte and William R. Lukasko.
