A native of Lafayette, Mrs. Dore had been a resident of New Iberia for many years. She loved dancing, card playing, playing games of chance and bingo and she enjoyed watching rodeo and game shows on TV. She enjoyed animals, especially her cats and she loved roses. Long ago, she played the French accordion, in which French music was what she preferred. She was a lover of all good Cajun foods, especially crabs. She was a wonderful cook. She was a fan of Clark Gable and his movie Gone with the Wind, Lana Turner and her movie Imitation of Life and Loretta Young and Claudette Colbert. Her proudest achievements were mothering her children and raising them all to love the Lord. She was an Avon representative, having reached the Presidents Club status during her 40-year career with them.
Survivors include one daughter, Dianna D. Delcambre and husband Brien of New Iberia; four sons, Dalton Dore and wife Pam, Dale Dore, and Bert Dore and wife Jenny, all of New Iberia, and Norman Dore of Loreauville; one brother, Harry Jackson and wife Lorraine of New Iberia; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laureal “Larry” Dore; her parents, Anisette and Paula Menard Jackson; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Louviere Dore.
