Post could be filled by next selection BY RANDY LOUIS, THE DAILY IBERIANIberia Parish schools Superintendent Dale Henderson will take another shot at selecting an assistant superintendent. Last week, the School Board rejected Jacklene Jones, Henderson's first choice for the job. The superintendent last month interviewed seven people for the job and will make anoher recommendation from he remaining six candidates on Wednesday. The following is a list of applicants who Henderson will choose from to fill the vacant post. Roger Hamilton Sr. is currently the supervisor of child welfare and attendance officer for the Iberia Parish school system where he has been since 1994. Prior to that he worked in the Iberia Parish school system as teacher for seven years, assistant principal for six years and principal for 12 years since 1969. Hamilton is a graduate of Southern University and McNeese State University where he earned his bachelor's, master's and educational specialist degrees. Shlester Jones is a graduate of McNeese University and Southern University where she earned her bachelor's and master's degrees. She has been a supervisor with the Iberia Parish school system special education department since 2003. Before that Jones was a special education teacher, a complaint/compliance officer, and served as acting supervisor of child welfare and attendance during the 2002-03 school year. C. Michael Judice is a graduate of Southwestern University where he obtained his bachelor's, master's and educationalist specialist degree. Since 2000 he has served as principal of Loreauville High School and before that he served as an assistant principal for four years and a classroom teacher for 11 years. He was a commanding officer in the U.S. Naval Reserves from 1992 to 1994 and before that he served as a Naval officer from 1970 until 1996. Kenneth Lockett began his educational career a teacher and coach in 1981 at Franklin Senior High School. In 1991 he became dean of discipline before becoming assistant principal then principal at Franklin High School. In 1995 he was appointed supervisor of child welfare and attendance and in 2004 supervisor of transportation for the St. Mary Parish school system. Lockett holds a bachelor's degree in accounting, a certification of education-secondary business, a master's degree in administration and 30-plus graduate hours from Southern University, Nicholls State University, and Southwestern University. Deidre Ledbetter began working in the Iberia Parish school system in 1982 where she was a special education teacher until 1994. She then became a behavior management specialist until 1997. In 1997 Ledbetter became a Title I family literacy specialist before becoming a link consultant in the 2005-06 school year. She received a bachelor's degree in general studies from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1982, a bachelor of arts in 1993 (USL), master's degree in 1996 (USL), plus-30 graduate hours in 1997 (USL), education specialist administration in 1998 (LSU), and in 2006 she received her educational doctorate from Argosy University. Raymond Marceaux is a principal at the Iberia Parish Career Center where he has been since 2005. Prior to that he was a principal at Jeanerette Senior High School, and assistant principal at Jeanerette Middle School, and a science teacher for 23 years. He is a graduate of the USL and McNeese State University where he earned his bachelor's and master's degrees. The School Board will vote on Henderson's next recommendation for assistant superintendent when school year begins next month. |
