Bill Mooney, of New Iberia, said he and his wife were traveling west on Loreauville Road at about 3 p.m. when a Toyota Avalon passed them on the left.
Jean Landry, of New Iberia, said the car then attempted to pass her Lexus, but clipped the front end as she was making a left turn on Rue DeGravelle.

Firefighters with Iberia Parish Fire District No. 1 helped free the driver from the vehicle. She was taken to a hospital by Acadian Ambulance.
State Police spokesman David Anderson said the woman, identified as Faye Tauzin,
suffered minor injuries. Charges were pending Saturday.
Landry, who was visibly shaken following the crash, said she was relieved the woman wasn't more seriously injured.
"I just was afraid she was dead," she said.
Mooney said the cars had been following a student driver on the two-lane road for miles prior to the crash.
"I think she just got aggravated," he said.
