20 honor grads in FSHS class of 2007

FRANKLIN — The Class of 2007 at Franklin Senior High School will celebrate it’s annual graduation ceremonies Friday at 6 p.m. in the school auditorium.

One hundred six students, which includes 20 honor graduates will receive their high school diplomas, at graduation.

Leading this year’s Class of 2007 graduates is Breana Sanders, summa cum laude. The distinction is given to students who earn a grade point average range from 3.9 to 3.74.

Anna Braud, Kirsten Hutchison, and Wentrell Thomas are this years, magna cum laude, and the distinction is given to students who earn a grade point average of 3.74 to 3.5.

Sanders is the daughter of Barry and Barbara Sanders. She was active in a number of activities at the school. Some of those activities were Future Business Leaders of America, National Honor Society, Educational talent search, yearbook staff, renaissance club, Who’s Who American High School Students and captain of the cheerleading team. After graduation Sanders plans to attend Louisiana State University and major in biological sciences.

Braud is the daughter of John and Cheryl Braud. During Braud’s days at Franklin Senior High she was involved in several activities, some of which include the 4-H Club, National Honor Society, Literary Rally and Girls State. She also is participating in the Walt Disney Co.’s career start program in Orlando, Fla. After graduation Braud plans to attend Nicholls State University and major in elementary education.

Hutchison is the daughter of James Hutchison and Lorrie Domingue. During her four years at Franklin Senior High School, Hutchison has been involved in the school rally team, National Honor Society, yearbook staff and the renaissance club. After graduation Hutchison plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and has not decided on a major yet.

Thomas is the son of Regina and Wynord Thomas. During Thomas’ four years at Franklin Senior High, he has been active in a number of clubs at the school.

He was a member of the band, theater academy, Future Business Leaders of America, National Honor Society, Literary Rally, New Generations, Insight, student council, ring committee, prom committee and Who’s Who Among High School students. He was also a member of the school football and track teams.
