Two lead at JSHS

JEANERETTE — Tu Cam Le, valedictorian, and Thomas “Nick” Tharp, salutatorian, will lead Jeanerette Senior High School’s Class of 2007 onto the big stage to receive high school diplomas during the annual graduation commencement ceremonies.

This year’s Jeanerette Senior High School senior class, which features 68 graduates, steps into the spotlight in graduation ceremonies scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. Monday in the boys gymnasium.

Le, the daughter of Lan Hong and Lac Le, has earned a grade point average of 4.625, while also participating in many clubs at Jeanerette Senior High School.

She has been an active member in the Future Business Leaders of America club for three years, the Beta Club for two years, French Club for one year and GPA Club for one year.

Le also has received many awards while at the school. Some of those awards include outstanding math student, outstanding English student, outstanding science student and outstanding French student. She also has had perfect attendance at the school for the past three years.

After graduation, Le plans to attend Nicholls State University, where she will major in education starting this fall.

Tharp is the son of Rachel and Thomas Tharp. During his high school years, he has earned a grade point average of 4.594.

He has served as a member of the Future Business Leaders of America club and has received several awards at the school.

Tharp has earned awards as outstanding English student, outstanding French student, outstanding science student and the outstanding senior award from the Women’s Club of New Iberia.

Tharp plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette this fall and major in the medical field.
