Thirteen years later, Eddie is now traveling around the world doing different hair styles for celebrities, when he is not at No Limit Hair Salon in New Iberia.
“So far I have done hair styles for signer LaToya Luckett (formerly of Destiny’s Child), singer Vivian Green, and Keesha Knight Pulliam’s (Rudy of the Cosby Show) while I have been traveling on the road,” said Eddie. “I like doing hair, because when I was younger I was always around my oldest sister (Natasha), and she was a hair stylist. Doing hair was my way out, and I always admired the finer things in life. I love doing hair. God gave me this gift, and I am using it every day.”

The road was not easy for Eddie to get to where he is. He had a lot of challenges.
“I have a wife (Corie) and three kids, Makhyrick, 8, Markeyvrick, 6, and Makhylond, 4, and they live in New Iberia. I miss them a lot when I am on the road. Recently, I have been traveling back and fourth to Houston working with LaToya,” said Eddie.
Eddie said he started traveling to do hair in 2004 after he began working for DVD Products Company out of Detroit, Mich.
“After working with DVD Products, I went on to do hair shows in Atlanta with the Bronner Brothers Company. Then I became a platform artist, which put my face out there and I was able to work with rappers David Banner, Slim Thug and Young Jeezey,” he said. “I met LaToya in 2005, and I have been doing her hair and make-up on tours since. We just did a 35-city tour in the United States, followed by stops in Canada, Japan and London.”
Eddie said he recently took a hair replacement training class in New York and would like to start doing something for cancer patients.
“I wanted to be a lawyer growing up and I went to school for a short time and majored in criminal justice. But my focus was not that, it was doing hair,” said Eddie.
“Whenever I come home, I try to be loyal and work in the salon, sometimes until 2 in the morning. No matter how far I travel I will always come home and work in New Iberia. Whenever I see a child in New Iberia, and if they are unfortunate, I pull them to the side and tell them come see me in the salon and I will do their hair for free. We have some people in New Iberia who are not fortunate to receive a hair cut or a new hair style.”
Eddie said his motto is, “You can do all things through Christ if you put God first.”
“Also, when I come home I like to speak to the Iberia Parish School Board career classes at the base and let them know my story. If you put God first, anything can happen,” said Eddie.
