Zoo event spooky

Visitors can join Bruce the red fox, Jabula the baby colobus, Onyx the black leopard and Jolie the white tiger for Boo at the Zoo Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Zoo of Acadiana.

The event will have Tricks and Treats for Kids, games with prizes, live entertainment and two costume contests at noon and 2 p.m.

“The zoo is not only an educational place, it’s a safe, friendly, family environment where you can come out and not worry about your kids’ safety,” said Lea Colletti, director of marketing events for the zoo.

For the older zoo-goers, the Twilight Fright Nights haunted house and maze will take place every Friday and Saturday through Oct. 28. from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Advance tickets are $5, and tickets are $6 at the door.

Boo at the Zoo admission for adults is the regular zoo entry fee of $7.95 plus tax and $4.50 for children ages 3 to 12. Children two or younger and current members get in free.
