The Iberia Parish School Board Special Education Department will be conducting parent education classes this fall free of charge at Iberia Medical Center, The Family Mile Family Resource Center and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

The classes will continue for a duration of between three and six weeks. Classes to be taught this semester are Children in the Middle: Parenting Children of Divorce, Active Parenting of Teens, Disciplining Young Children and 1,2,3,4 Parenting. Parent workshops also will be offered during September, October and November.

“This is the 10th year we have been offering these classes, and it gives parents an opportunity to spend quality time with other parents while working on parent skills to enhance their relationship with their kids. The IPSB has made a commitment to the children and parents of Iberia Parish to provide quality parent education programs and workshops free of charge,” said Steven Hargrave, coordinator of parent education programs and counselor services.
