The golf course played host to the Andy Smith Band Jammin' Scramble golf tournament. The fifth annual event benefited the Iberia Humane Society.
"So far, it's been successful," said Autry Berard II, president of the humane society.

Thirty-six teams of four golfers participated in the scramble, in which each player tries to hit a ball closest to the pin in one swing. Each team contributed $400.
Proceeds were also raised from ticket sales for a pre-event party at Cypress Bayou Casino and a silent auction.
"We always have people who donate items for the auction," Berard said. "One of our biggest supporters is Cypress Bayou Casino. They donate all the food for the golf tournament."
The scramble was followed by a poolside party at the Squirrel Run clubhouse featuring Smith's band and a fashion show by Ricki's.
Berard said the event is the biggest fundraiser for the humane society, which shelters more than 100 dogs and cats at its facility on Troy Road.
He said proceeds from the event help pay for medical expenses, salaries of employees, and daily necessities at the shelter.
Smith said he came up with the idea for the scramble after reading a news article on the humane society's plight five years ago. The shelter was on the verge of closing its doors due to a lack of funding.
"I was looking to lend the band's name to a charity, and the humane society needed help," he said.
Smith said the goal for the event was to raise $30,000. Organizers did not have an exact tally as of Saturday afternoon.
