Baldwin graduates basic combat training

Army Pvt. Theoplis Baldwin Jr. has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills. Baldwin's training included instruction in military weapons, chemical warfare, bayonet training, rifle marksmanship and field tactics.

Baldwin is the son of Theoplis Baldwin Sr. of Jeanerette and the late Debby Sabine Baldwin.

He is also the grandson of the late Raymond (Raddy) and Alice Sabine.

Baldwin is a 2003 graduate of Jeanerette Senior High School.
